Archie Held’s creations present his articulation of the rhythmic movements observed in common gestures and dance. The subtle melted bronze surface textures, smooth shapes, or undulating planes all represent part of a unique process. Sculptures first take shape as cardboard models while the final components are fabricated on powerful machines that shape the material into the desired formations. All texturing and finishing is done by hand in a long and laborious process. The Archie Held Studio is available for custom design commissions as well as interpretations of existing designs to a specific site. FOB California.
