le gracieux

The name "le gracieux" (leh-grah-seeyou), is literally translated as "the gracious". The term is borrowed from an essay by French author Montesquieu in which he discusses the many degrees of pleasure admitted into the arts. After more than a decade of work in theater, proprietor Douglas Funkhouser decided to apply his craft to residential interior fabrics. Funkhouser developed le gracieux as a line of hand-blocked and hand-screened hemp/linen blends as well as solid hemp textiles, all evoking the look and feel of antiquity.   FOB Los Angeles.
