SLOAN MIYASATO

OUR HISTORY

In 1978 Sloan Miyasato opened its first San Francisco Design Center showroom at the original Ice House complex. Sloan Miyasato began by offering Fine Asian Antiques to the trade. The founders were collectors; they had an extraordinary eye for the unique, the original, and the refined. When SFDC relocated to the current South of Market area, Sloan Miyasato became the first permanent lease holder at The Showplace. The first product line to join the Asian Antiques was locally produced Phoenix Day Lighting. In the 1980s and early 1990s fabric lines were added to the showroom, with Fortuny as the "jewel in the crown". Furniture lines, additional lighting products, stone accessories, fine art and floor coverings soon followed and secured Sloan Miyasato's place among the elite wholesale sources at SFDC.

Today, the Asian Antiques Gallery at Sloan Miyasto remains a primary source for rare and magnificent treaures, some of monumental scale. The company also takes great pride in launching or re-introducing fine wholesale manufcaturers to the San Frnacisco market. The latest arrivals are Michael Berman, Anees Upholstery, Mimi London, Quadrus, LeavittWeaverOne, Randolph & Hein Furniture and Fabrics, Satori, Scalamandre, Elizabeth Dow, Knoll Luxe, Malabar and Link outdoor furniture & textiles. The Sloan Miyasato website offers links to the vendor sites, giving designers 24/7 access to Sloan Miyasato’s vast resources. The company is dedicated to a strong outside sales program and a culture of controlled evolvement. After celebrating 30 years of success at SFDC, the co-principals and staff look forward to serving you for 30 more!
