1978

Sheelagh Sloan and Mark Miyasato opened their eponymous trade showroom at the former Ice House in San Francisco, specializing in Asian antiques.

Phoenix Day

Phoenix Day, one of the oldest businesses in San Francisco - dating back to 1850 - becomes the first manufacturer to be represented at Sloan Miyasato, outside of the antiques category,

1980

Sloan Miyasato becomes the first trade showroom to introduce fine art, representing and supporting local and international artists. Sloan becomes a one-stop for the design community, merging art and design under one roof.
